This is dataDataGoose, a weekly newsletter for Data Science students and hobbyists.
Im Josh Caulfield, an InfoSec professional, studying a Data Science bachelors. Each week I’ll post a new update here (and to your inbox) sharing everything new I’ve learned and read that week.
Here you’ll find:
This week in Data Science
Summaries and round-ups of interesting stories and developments related to Data Science, Python and R, Statistics and more.
Data Science 101
Each week i’ll explain (or share a better explanation of) a Data Science, Statistics or python concept. Expect a short, brief overview of a topic, along with some optional extra reading links to video explainers, articles or texts.
Courses & Projects
I regularly find and try out new courses, data sets and project guides. In this section I’ll share the best ones i’ve found covering any topic related to DS. There will always be one free resource shared here, minimum. Whenever a good paid course gets discounted I’ll share a reminder here, too.
Quick Tip
Similar to Data Science 101, but for really short tips and tricks, like shortcuts in Jupyter notebooks or little-known python functions.
Casual Corner
Learning Data Science doesn’t need to be all work and no play. The Casual Corner is where lighter-to-digest materials, such as YouTube videos or short articles, will be shared. The emphasis here is material that won’t tire or bore, is fun to consume, and most importantly, benefits awareness or knowledge of Data Science.
The dataDataGoose Community
Perhaps the most important part of the newsletter, beneath every article I encourage you to comment any thoughts or suggestions you have based on the email above - and sometimes will pose a pertinent question myself, too. We’re all one community studying and learning Data Science together!
